ADAM AND EVE HAD IT GREAT...WHAT HAPPENED?! (video)

For although they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks to him, -Romans 1:21a

Pray First:  Ask God for eyes to see and a heart to feel how bad *sin really is, then ask Him to renew your heart EVERY DAY to treasure Him as you should, then ask God for a heart that loves the truth of God instead of the lies of Satan.  Today is a really serious prayer day isn't it!?  Write this down so you can remember to pray about this often.
(*sin- =means to "not trust God or do what He says")

Lets go over what we already know to be true, OK?!.....Is that OK?!
-We know God created the world and then He created you in His image to show how special He is.
-God wants you to know, love and enjoy Him more than anything.
-God desires to have a close "best friendship" with you.

But today we will learn that:
-Satan is an enemy to God and you.
-Adam and Eve sinned: because they did not love God most of all.

ADAM AND EVE HAD IT GREAT!  WHAT ON EARTH HAPPENED?

Explore the events in Genesis 3:1-7 and underline in your bible important parts of the conversation that took place between Eve and Satan, disguised as the serpent, to see if you can find the problem.

Adam and Eve, the first people, had it great-they had the ability to fully enjoy all of God's wonderful creation and the enjoyment of God Himself as He walked with them in the garden.  Can you imagine that? (I hope so, that is what it will be like again, if you go to heaven.)

Adam and Eve were created to show how special God is by thinking, feeling and acting in ways that would reflect back to God how great and wonderful He is.   But by not listening to God and doing what He said, what they reflected back to God was: "You aren't as great as You say You are. You can't make us satisfy us. You can't really make us happy." And that is *SIN.

They traded the incomparable worth of the glory of God for something that would never really make them happy, showing us just how foolish they and we are in our thinking.

Dig Deeper: Read and underline in your bible the true things that you learn in Romans 1:21-23.

This is an extraordinary example of "falling short of the glory of God!"

To honor God means know and reflect that God is the most special person of all.  One of the ways you can show this is by always thanking God for how good He is to you (and all of us) and by trusting and obeying Him.

Now, put on your thinking cap!

Here are a few questions I'm pretty sure you can answer:
  • Were Adam and Eve thankful for all the good things God had given them?
  • Did they honor God when the disobeyed his command not to eat from ONE tree out of ALL THOSE TREE'S?
  • Who had changed....them or God?
  • Had God stopped being loving, faithful, good and righteous, or had Adam and Eve stopped showing that God was the most special person of all?
  • Do you think you are ever like Adam and Eve?
  • Do you always honor God?
  • Do you always thank Him?
  • Why do you think our own hearts are Adam and Eve's sinful hearts?
Live Action:
Today ask your mom or dad to point out a time when your actions were not honoring to God.  Draw a picture of this. Then pray with your mom or dad and ask God to forgive you.  (That's called "repentance" but we will talk about that later!)

Have a great day Enjoying God and Thanking Him for being Super Special!!

A Verse to KNOW and help you GROW: Practice saying it while you are riding in the car and looking at everything that God has made.

  2. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Especially for the details, like picture and video selection. You couldn't imagine how many I plow through trying to find just theeee right one. I desire to post a lesson daily because kids who understand what it means to TREASURE God would understand how delightful it is to treasure His Word as well, and create a hunger and thirst for truth. What do you think? Is that to much? Will it get old quickly?
    I appreciate your feedback!
