JESUS IS YOUR "MAP"

One day a friend invited me to visit him on his farm. His directions went something like this: "Go a quarter mile to the edge of the city, and you will see a big, red barn on your left. Go to the next road and turn to your left. Take that road for 3/4 of a mile. You will see a large palm tree. Go right for 4 miles and the you will see a big rock..."  I wrote all of this down, it was tough and only by Gods grace I finally found the farm!

I discovered there were several different ways to get to this mans house, he could have taken me anyway he wanted to. You see, he was my map! What did I have to do? I simply had to listen to him and do what he said. Every time he said "Turn," I did it.  He took me a way I had never been before and could never have discovered on my own.  My friend was my map; he knew the way.

How would you ask Jesus for directions choose A or B:

A. Lord, what do you want me to do? When do you want me to do it? Who do you want me to involve in this along the way? And please tell me how this is going to end up.

Or

B. Lord, as You go with me, tell me what to do one step at a time. I will do it.

The "A" response is what most kids say. We always want a detailed road map.
We say, "Lord if you can just tell me what this adventure is all about, I can make my own map and go."

But Jesus says, "you don't need all of that. You need to follow me one day at a time!"

Who really knows the way for you to go to have your BEST Life with God?
GOD! So He sent Jesus who knows the way.

Jesus said, "I am the way..." (John 14:6)
•He did not say "I will show you the way."
•He did not say, "I will give you a map."
•He did not say "I will tell you which direction to go."
• He said, "I AM THE WAY." Jesus knows the way.
Jesus is your map.

I have learned that when I stop trying to do things my way for Jesus, I can immediately do everything he tells me each day with a happy heart. He gives me plenty to do to fill every day with adventure. (Like obeying, doing what is right, praying for all sorts of things, and learning about him by reading my bible).   If I do what He says, I am ready incase He wants to use me for a special assignment!

  1. Ohh my magnificent God! What a beautiful foundational understanding of God. Prayerfully God will encourage parents to build upon these lessons and use them to spur their children on daily.
